I’m not sure I should admit this, but there’s a ‘Heretica’ section among the bookshelves in my office—just a few, so far, of the writings of history’s most notorious infidels. Each book is clearly labeled ‘Heretical’, just so that any unsuspecting church member who borrows a book from my office will know what’s up. I’ll add this as a disclaimer: I purchase only the writings of ‘dead’ heretics or, if still living, only from used bookstores, so that none of them get any royalties.
I don’t think I need to defend such a practice. On this journey through the wilderness, it’s not a bad idea to cast a glance, from time to time, at the jackals and the vultures, and see what they are up to. Read more…

Children’s Day in Mozambique is a holiday that occurs on June 1st each year to celebrate children.  In Pemba, the IRIS celebration always includes presents, a chicken feast, sodas and games.  This year was beautiful and the Presence of Jesus was wonderfully present as we spent time playing and eating together.  Read more…
